My supervisor and mentor for this mentorship is Herbert Biste. Herbert is a german native from Bayreuth that moved to the states to get a degree and play college soccer. Before moving to the United States, Herbert completed his BA in Sports Economics in his hometown Bayreuth. He completed another BA in Business Administration with a cognate in Management while being a D1 soccer player at Hofstra University in New York. He returned back to Bayreuth to start his MBA in Sports Economy before taking another chance on the U.S. and continuing his college career at Cal State LA where he started an MBA in Educational Leadership while also finishing his college playing career.
After finishing his degree back home in Germany and before coming back out to the U.S., Herbert started working for the professional soccer club Spvg. Bayreuth as an assistant of the GM. After his time with the club, he decided to come back to the U.S. and during his MBA at Cal State LA, Herbert started an internship with his future employer and current partner Athletes USA. He eventually progressed into a full-time position as regional manager and soon became the CEO of the company. Shortly after, he founded Warubi Sports, while still remaining a lead scout at Athletes USA, which is now one vital part of Warubi Sports. The main responsibility of Herbert within Warubi is product and business development. Talking about achievements, he mentioned that every player who is improving and can follow his dreams with the help of Warubi is an achievement in itself. His ultimate goal is to grow Warubi into the biggest full-service soccer agency in the world.
