Today was an intense day, as I travelled to Orlando for Warubi sports to attend a national youth soccer tournament for the next three days. As previously mentioned, one of the main focuses of Warubi is the player management and consulting with universities and colleges. Warubi is always on the lookout for the best talents nationally and internationally. Therefore, scouting is extremely important and a vital part of the whole scholarship business of Warubi. Additionally, Warubi likes to be up to date with the biggest talents in the US not just to help them get to college, but also to potentially send them overseas to Germany, which is part of Warubis´ full sports management consulting service. The tournament that was being hosted in Sanford; FL was the ECNL showcase. ECNL stands for Elite Club National league, which is made up of some of the best youth soccer clubs in the US. The tournament was spread over three days, with over 100 teams from different age groups. The complex where the tournament was hosted was made up of 10 fields, meaning there were 10 games going on simultaneously.
I left Tiffin early in the morning heading to the airport in Detroit. My flight left at 12:00pm, eventually getting to Orlando at about 3:30pm. We arrived at our Air BnB shortly after, as Sanford was only about a 30-minute drive from Orlando. We spent the rest of the day organizing the next two days in terms of schedules and assigned fields for each scout. Having ten games going on at the same time, we had to make sure that each scout was able to see at least on half of as many games as possible, which required a lot of planning and preparation the day before the tournament.
