    Day 13 - February 9th (3hrs)

Today, I was introduced to the second step of the client acquisition. I was having a zoom call with the head of acquisition, Chris Griebsch. He walked me through the evaluation process step by step. After the initial call with a prospect, the first thing to do is to gather all the necessary information. Once all the information we need (GPA, desired Major, UG or GR, Season Stats, Height and Position, Any Rewards and Transfer Portal status), the information will be put in a folder and the player will be put in the database. Once this is done, the player will be added to the CRM software Pipedrive, which I got introduced to last week. After the player is set up in the system, the actual evaluation process starts. Warubi does not necessarily have any tool they use for the evaluation process. Usually, the evaluation process is based on some average factors and experience of the scouts. Warubi has a guidelines sheet where some major factors are being listed for each position and each position. For example, if a center back is below 6 foot, chances for a top-level D1 team are very slim, whereas a 6-foot 2 center back that played at a very decent level in high-school will have a good shot at a D1 scholarship. The evaluation email has a specific layout, which is provided by the company. Once the scout has evaluated the players chances, the data is filled into the layout and sent out to the recruit.

Mentorships, as well as internships, are an extremely valuable tool for students to prepare for the real world.
