Today was the first day where I was working towards building my scouting profile. There are a lot of different parts that go into building the profile. In the first step, I received my official scouting email, which is frieder.wagner@athletesusa.org. This step was necessary in order to receive all the further instructions to finish off my profile. The second step was to write my scouting profile. There are three different sections that go into the scouting profile. Your personal history, your soccer background in your own country and your soccer as well as academic background in the US. The profile needs to be written in a very smart manner, as it is kind of used as a selling point for potential customers. As a scout, you need to think as a player, and what you would want to read in order to be convinced to work with this person. Besides figuring out the best way to write my profile, I also had to dig up all my success and achievements of my career, as this was another section of the profile. After figuring out all the details that I wanted to have in my biography, I was finally able to write the final version of my profile. It took me several hours, but at the end I was quite happy how it came out. The last step to finish the profile was to upload three different pictures and to set up an online calendar. I used Calendly, which is an online booking tool for customers and clients to book a call. It was quite confusing to start off with, but after a while I figured out how to work it and was able to finish my scouting profile. I sent all the necessary information to Warubi, and am now waiting for my scouting profiles to be published on both, Warubi Sports and Athletes USA.
