As already stated in the previous journal entry, I was attempting to complete my second google certification today. As getting to know the marketing department of Warubi is one of the core tasks of my mentorship, Marvin told me that it will be essential for me to understand how google analytics works. The way that Warubi has set up their website tracking with google includes both GA4 as well as the universal google analytics tool. One of my tasks will to study and learn the Google Analytics report of 2022, which shows an in-depth analysis of the company performance in 2022. In order to understand this report, I will need to be familiar with both GA4 and the universal google analytics tool. I started off with several courses provided by the google academy to learn about the universal google analytics tool. These courses are required before taking the 1:45h certification exam. These courses provide you with knowledge about the most important parts of the analytics tool, including how a company domain is created and linked to google, how to read and interpret different metrics and how to export data to other platforms and tools to deepen the company analysis. After studying the different courses throughout the day, I was ready and well prepared to take the certification exam. The exam consisted of 70 questions. The exam was a little bit easier than the GA4 certificate, as the older google tool is not as complex as GA4. Nevertheless, it was a quite challenging exam. You need a passing score of at least 80% to obtain the certification, and I passed my Google Analytics Individual Qualification with 83%.
