    Day 22 - March 4th (8hrs)

Today I kept working towards my website. I went over my homepage again in order to finish some small details. As a next step, I was looking at some other examples from scouting websites that I was given through Warubi to get some more ideas on different pages I can add. I decided to work on my about me page, the contact page as well as the blog page. The about me page was a little bit tricky, as it is not just adding some picture and a little bit of text. I wanted to create a page about myself that gives any website visitors an in-depth look on who I am, the career I had in college as well as back home in Germany and lastly, to get the message across how I can help them in achieving their goal of becoming a scholarship athlete in the U.S. I decided that transparency and authenticity are the best way to go, since I would expect the same thing from a scout that I would be working with. I added three different portion into the website, including a biography, a summary of my soccer career back in Germany as well as a summary of my career in the United States. Additionally, I added a small portion of my CV, and linked my actual CV document as well as a link to my LinkedIn page. Lastly, I created a space on the page where I want to add a short introduction video where I introduce myself, and I want to add a video that describes Athletes USA. I played around with recording the video and took several tries, but I did not like the outcome. I decided to create the video another day, and finished with creating the contact me page. I added a questionnaire link to the Athletes USA website as well as a simple contact bar that allows the prospects to reach me through email or text. I definitely realized that building a website is far from easy. There are a lot of different things that go into it, and especially when you are picky and want to make everything perfect, building a single page on a website can take a long time.

Mentorships, as well as internships, are an extremely valuable tool for students to prepare for the real world.
