    Day 3 - January 14th (7hrs)

Day three of the mentorship was all about setting me up for the next couple weeks. One of my main responsibilities with Warubi Sports will be the talent scouting and recruiting for Athletes USA. In order to properly do this task, you need to have a global scout license. Warubi Sports requires all their workers to pass this license course before starting the work process. Being an international recruitment agency, I will be dealing with players from all around the world. There are several different eligibility requirements for different Divisions, governing bodies, schools and most importantly countries. A player from Germany where English is mandatory in the school system might be easier to recruit than a player from Serbia or Thailand were English might not be a mandatory language. This means that prospects will need to have different certifications proving their level and knowledge of the English language. Therefore, every worker of Warubi Sports has to pass the Global Scout License. It took me several hours to work through this course, at includes different learning materials, videos and quizzes for each chapter. The license teaches you about the process of college recruiting, international play & work opportunities and regulations for customers, events like camps and other training sessions, soccer academies abroad that are part of the Warubi Sports package and lastly, several tips and strategies for identification, promotion & sales. After a long day of studying and several quizzes and tests I was finally able to complete the scouting course and can now call myself a verified global scout for Warubi Sports.

Mentorships, as well as internships, are an extremely valuable tool for students to prepare for the real world.
