Today I had a long call with Herbert. We were talking about some updates within the company. Warubi recently had a very interesting camp in Hawaii where they invited German soccer club 1. FC Köln over as they have a cooperation with their youth academy. They had one camp in California and one camp in Hawaii. The camps were very limited in size, as they were specifically looking for quality talent that they can scout and potentially move to Germany. Herbert told me about how the connection to cologne started in the first place and this showed me once again how important connections and networking are. If there is one major thing I learned during this mentorship so far, it is the importance of a network. This includes building your network, expanding it but most importantly taking care of it. A lot of people have a massive network without even knowing about it, or loose it because they do not nurture it. That is one thing that I learned from Herbert which I want to improve on myself is to nurture my network. Over the years, I was able to build a massive network through soccer, but sometimes I seem to forget about it and not use it at all. Networks are extremely valuable, especially when it comes to business. After the call, I kept working on my content planning for both of my websites. The planning of what content I want to use on the website seems to be a lot harder than I thought. Part of it comes from me being very picky, but also the fact that I have a very selective audience requires the right content.
