    Day 32 - April 7th (6hrs)

As Warubi conducts many camps, it is vital to know the ins and outs of how to plan and conduct a camp. During a call with the guy’s form Warubi, they idea came up to work with some local companies and ask them if they need a camp director to get the experience for future Warubi camps. I was fortunate to get a hands-on experience with CCSC, a company here in Cleveland that conducts soccer camps. I got employed as the camp director for a camp in Gahanna, Ohio. This camp is an elite high -school camp with roughly 130 players that are college prospects. CCSC has eployed 12 college coaches from all over the country to work alongside myself. Today was all about planning and organizing the camp schedule, outline of the fields and the coaches schedule with coaches’ assignments. I was working closely with Carlso who is an employee for CCSC. Together, we worked on creating the check-in list and assign camp numbers for the players, and we created the layout of the fields we were using. We have two fields available, and the camp is split up in two parts. We decided to use the first 2 hours for technical sessions, including two passing stations, two possession stations and two finishing stations with goalkeeper work. This will all be conducted on one field, while the second part of the camp will be small sided games where we have 4 total fields, split up on two main fields. Lastly, I had to organize a coaches group chat, assign each coach a station as well as a team for the last part of the camp and organize the coaches panel for the end of the camp. I was communicating with coaches about what questions will be asked and who will be involved in the panel.

Mentorships, as well as internships, are an extremely valuable tool for students to prepare for the real world.
