    Day 7 - January 23rd (8hrs)

After the past two days at the ECNL showcase, we parted ways and I was heading back to Tiffin, Ohio. Due to cheaper rates, the flight I was taking was at 5 in the morning, which required me to leave our Air BnB at 2:30am. After having two busy days of recruiting in the sun, this was certainly not the easiest task. The trip was quite easy once I got to the airport. The flight back to Detroit took about 3 hours, with another 1 and ½ hours’ worth of driving back to Tiffin. Once I got back, we hopped on a zoom call to review the past two days. We went over all the recruits we collected and ranked them as well as organized them with positions, age and level of play. Additionally, I had to write a review report of the entire trip, detailing every part of the showcase. This was submitted to the head of the company, and used as reference to justify the trip as well as rank the usefulness and outcome of the trip. For companies like Warubi, it is extremely important to check business trips for value. If the outcome of the trip does not match up against the costs, the company will not go on the trip for the next year anymore. As an example, for this trip, we were able to create a database of roughly 200 players, and further expand our network with college coaches. Given the fact that out of those 200 players roughly 150 will use one of the services offered through Warubi (Scholarhsips, camps, travel abroad), it can be said that the trip was definitely valuable and will be part of the business plan for the next year.

Mentorships, as well as internships, are an extremely valuable tool for students to prepare for the real world.
